13 episodes follow the adventures of Anton, a young boy who forms an unlikely friendship with an old-fashioned kind of alien - not an extraterrestrial from another star system, but a vampire named Rudiger. The series is imaginative, entertaining and with some very special effects, while the story concerns freedom, friendship and forgiveness - eating habits notwithstanding! Vampires, after all, were flying successfully long before human beings achieved any kind of aerial status. With Rudiger's help and a spare vampire cloak, Anton learns to fly - around his bedroom, down the hall, and across the city, but always, of course, after dark!

It's really nice, that there are still so many Fans of Anton, Rudiger, Anna also. I've always envied Anton, because he had the cape and the flying powder, I would have liked flying so much!)

(I was born in 1986, the year the show first came out and I used to watch it when I was 6-7-8 years old! And the whole story of the little vampire fascinated me ever since. I also had tapes of the radio play, but they weren't as good as the show. I also watched the other show and the movie, but nothing ever reached the original show!!)

I remember that, back then at school during the lessons we used to sit in the tv room with the class not to miss only one episode. The fact that our teachers allowed that clearly shows that the show was cult.)

(I felt set back into my childhood. I used to adore the show. I play the theme song on my piano, wanted to look like Anna and to have vampire friends like Anton. Even today I still am into vampires and love vampire movies. The newer "little vampire"-shows don't come close to the classic version that carried so much atmosphere.)
